In God’s Time

Abram heard a promise spoken,

Stars were counted, hope awoken,

Years rolled on, the nights grew long,

Yet God was faithful, true and strong.

A nation marched from Pharaoh’s hand,

But did not step straight in the land,

Through desert dust their faith was tried,

Till trust in God was purified.

Moses left the palace door,

Chose the field, the staff, the poor,

Years of silence shaped the man,

Before he walked in God’s great plan.

David felt the oil run,

But wore no crown when day was done,

He waited while the seasons passed,

God raised a king that would outlast.

Hannah wept through silent years,

Heaven counted every tear,

She gave her vow, her heart, her pain,

And life was born where hope was slain.

So if you wait and wonder why,

And prayers seem lost in silent sky,

Remember this, and hold on tight,

God’s time is perfect, sure and right.

The world will end when He decrees,

Not by fear, nor chance, nor seas,

Beginnings, endings, all align,

Within the clock of God’s own time.
