A Story without Holiness no-one will see the LORD
The Narrow Road
There once was a man named Daniel who went to church every Sunday.
He sang the hymns, bowed his head in prayer, and spoke kindly to those around him.
To many, he looked like a true follower of Christ.
But come Monday, things were different.
His words became harsh, his temper quick, and his life no longer reflected the One he claimed to follow.
He would often say to himself, “I am under grace now, God understands.”
One evening, as he sat alone, a verse came to his mind:
“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.” — Hebrews 12:14
The words troubled him.
He tried to shake it off, but then another Scripture followed:
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction… because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” — Matthew 7:13–14
Daniel began to realise something he had long ignored.
Grace was not a licence to sin…
it was the power to live right.
He remembered what the Word says:
“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid.” — Romans 6:1–2
That night, he fell to his knees.
“Lord,” he cried, “I have been living two lives… one before men, and another before You. Forgive me.”
A quiet peace filled the room, and deep in his heart came the truth:
“If ye love me, keep my commandments.” — John 14:15
From that day forward, Daniel chose the narrow road.
Not perfectly—but sincerely.
His Monday began to look like his Sunday.
His words softened, his heart changed, and his life started to reflect Christ.
For he had learned:
Grace does not excuse sin…
it transforms the sinner.
And the narrow road—though not easy—
leads all the way home.
Closing Thought (for your website or post)
Without holiness no man shall see the Lord.
Grace is not freedom to live as we please,
but power to live as we ought.
