Psalm 67 – A Poem
Lord, be merciful unto me,
And let Your face upon me be;
Shine with favour from above,
Fill my heart with grace and love.
Bless me, Lord, not for my gain,
Nor for comfort free from pain;
But that others yet may see,
The saving power found in Thee.
May all nations know Your name,
And hear abroad Your holy fame;
From east to west, from shore to shore,
May countless hearts Your grace adore.
Let every people lift their voice,
And in Your goodness now rejoice;
Let every tribe and tongue proclaim,
The glory of Your matchless name.
For You judge with truth and right,
Leading souls by heaven’s light;
Perfect wisdom, perfect grace,
Flowing from Your holy place.
When earth yields forth her rich increase,
And harvest fields are filled with peace;
We know each blessing comes from You,
Faithful, loving, just, and true.
The mountains sing, the valleys praise,
Creation lifts its song always;
The rivers clap, the winds declare,
That God is good and everywhere.
So bless us, Lord, that all may see,
The light of Christ revealed through me;
Until the ends of earth proclaim,
The wonder of Your glorious name.
And when at last around Your throne,
The gathered nations stand as one;
We’ll sing forever, loud and clear,
“To God alone be glory here!”
