Psalm 68 – God Arises
A Poem by George’s Web Ministries
Let God arise, let darkness flee,
Let chains be broken, let captives be free.
The Lord of glory goes before,
And opens wide salvation’s door.
His enemies scatter at His command,
Like drifting smoke across the land.
But righteous hearts rejoice and sing,
For God alone is Lord and King.
A Father to the fatherless child,
A refuge gentle, strong, and mild.
A Friend to widows left alone,
Whose tears and prayers before Him are known.
Through desert sands He led His own,
By cloud and fire His love was shown.
He sent the rain upon the ground,
And blessings rich were all around.
The mountains shook before His face,
The earth stood still before His grace.
The God of Sinai reigns today,
And still He guides His saints each day.
Blessed be the Lord above,
Who daily showers us with love.
He bears our burdens, hears our cry,
And lifts our weary spirits high.
Ascended now to heaven’s throne,
The victory and the crown His own.
The risen Christ, the conquering King,
Makes all of heaven gladly sing.
One day the nations great and small,
Before His majesty shall fall.
Every kingdom, tribe, and tongue,
Will praise the Lord in every song.
So lift your voice and praise His name,
Yesterday, today, the same.
For God arises, strong and true,
And all His promises He’ll do.
Psalm 68 reminds us still today:
Our God is mighty, our God is near,
Our God is worthy of every cheer.
He bears our burdens, hears our call,
And reigns forever—Lord of all.
