Psalm 70 — A Poem

“Make Haste, O Lord”

O Lord, I lift my voice today,
For troubles seem to block my way;
The storm clouds gather overhead,
And fear would fill my heart with dread.

Make haste, O God, to hear my cry,
Look down on me from Heaven high;
For You alone can save and keep,
And guard Your child when shadows creep.

When enemies against me stand,
I place my life within Your hand;
For You are Judge, both good and right,
Who turns the darkness into light.

Let those who seek Your holy face,
Rejoice within Your boundless grace;
Let songs of gladness fill the air,
As hearts are lifted up in prayer.

“Let God be magnified!” we sing,
Let praises to the heavens ring;
For He is worthy of all praise,
Through peaceful nights and troubled days.

Though poor and needy I may be,
Your loving eye still watches me;
You are my Help when strength is gone,
My Hope, my Shield to lean upon.

When burdens weigh upon my soul,
And crashing waves begin to roll,
Your mighty hand will safely guide,
And keep me always by Your side.

So I will trust and not despair,
For You are near and hear my prayer;
My Deliverer, Lord, You are,
My Morning Light, my Guiding Star.

Make haste, O Lord, and hear my plea,
For all my hope is found in Thee;
And through each trial I shall proclaim,

“Let God be magnified!” — Your glorious Name.
