Psalm 72 — The King of Peace
By George’s Web Ministries

O Lord above, send wisdom down,
And place Your justice on the crown;
Let righteousness the sceptre hold,
More precious far than finest gold.

Let mountains bring forth peace and rest,
And bless the poor who are oppressed;
Let mercy flow like gentle rain,
Refreshing hearts weighed down by pain.

May every needy cry be heard,
And every promise kept in word;
Let those forgotten by the crowd
Find shelter safe beneath His cloud.

The weak and helpless He will save,
His mighty hand is strong and brave;
The broken heart, the wounded soul,
He comforts and He makes them whole.

His kingdom stretches shore to shore,
His glory shines forevermore;
The distant lands and islands sing,
And nations bow before the King.

No earthly throne can long remain,
For kingdoms rise and fall again;
But God’s Anointed shall endure,
His promises are strong and sure.

Like rain upon the mown-down field,
His grace brings forth a fruitful yield;
Where darkness stood, His light appears,
To calm our doubts and dry our tears.

Blessed be God, whose wonders shine,
Whose power and mercy are divine;
Let all the earth His praise proclaim,
And magnify His holy name.

Amen, Amen, the heavens ring,
All glory to our coming King;
For peace and justice He shall bring,
And every heart His praise shall sing.

Psalm 72 — A prayer for the righteous King whose reign brings justice, mercy, peace, and blessing to all the earth.
