Psalm 75 – God Is the Judge

We give You thanks, O Lord above,
For wondrous works and endless love;
Your mighty hand is ever near,
A refuge strong, removing fear.

Though earth may shake and kingdoms fall,
You hold the pillars of them all;
When troubled hearts are filled with dread,
Your sovereign hand is overhead.

The proud may boast in earthly fame,
And lift themselves in lofty name;
But pride shall stumble, strength shall fade,
For all men’s glory is but shade.

Promotion comes not east nor west,
Nor from the south where men seek rest;
For God alone exalts His own,
And rules from His eternal throne.

He brings one down, lifts one on high,
His righteous judgments none deny;
His wisdom perfect, pure, and true,
His mercy fresh like morning dew.

A cup is in His mighty hand,
His justice reaches every land;
Yet grace is offered while we live,
For Christ has come to save and give.

So I will praise the God above,
And sing forever of His love;
The righteous shall be raised one day,
While evil’s power shall fade away.

For God is Judge, forever true,
And all things rest secure in You.
