From Tears to Trust

Psalm 13 – From Tears to Trust

How long, O Lord, will You hide from my cry?

How long must I look with tears in my eye?

My heart is heavy, my thoughts are in pain,

Each day feels darker again and again.

How long shall the enemy rise over me?

Boasting in pride, while I long to be free.

It feels like You’ve left me alone in the night,

With no hand to guide me, no sign of Your light.

Yet still will I call You, O Lord hear my plea,

Lift up my eyes—let Your mercy reach me.

Give strength to my soul, let Your light now appear,

For I know in my weakness, You still draw me near.

Let not those against me rejoice in my fall,

Let them not triumph and say, “We have won it all.”

For even in silence, I cling to Your grace,

Still seeking Your heart, still longing Your face.

Then deep in the darkness, a whisper so true,

Reminds me, O Lord, I can still trust in You.

Your mercy unchanging, Your love ever sure,

Through all of life’s trials, my soul will endure.

So I will rejoice though the answer’s not here,

I will sing through the pain, I will rise above fear.

For You have been good, though I’ve not understood,

And I know in the end, You are working for good.

From weeping to trusting, from sorrow to song,

You’ve been there beside me, my God, all along.

So here in the night, before morning is new,

I lift up my voice—for I still believe You.
