Psalm Chapter 55 Poem

“Cast Thy Burden”

When heavy clouds surround the soul,
And sorrow takes its painful toll,
When fear and worry fill the night,
And hope grows dim without its light.

When trusted friends turn cold away,
And darkened hearts no longer stay,
When words once sweet become unkind,
And peace is difficult to find.

David cried with tears both deep and sore,
As troubles gathered at his door,
He longed to flee on wings above,
And fly away just like a dove.

“O Lord,” he cried, “please hear my plea,
The storm of life is over me,
My heart within is filled with pain,
Like endless thunder, wind, and rain.”

Yet through the darkness came a word,
A gentle promise from the Lord:
“Cast every burden unto Me,
And I shall give thee victory.”

For God still sees the hidden tear,
And stays beside His children near,
The weary soul He will defend,
His love and mercy never end.

So when your heart is torn apart,
And fear comes knocking at your heart,
Remember God is faithful still,
And all things rest beneath His will.

Though friends may fail and shadows fall,
The Lord remains above them all,
A refuge strong through every test,
The weary find in Him their rest.

So cast your burden, do not fear,
For God is always standing near,
And in the storm His voice will say,
“My child, I’ll guide thee all the way.”
