Burry the Hatchet - Forgive to be for given
rhyming poem on “Burying the Hatchet”
Bury the Hatchet
Bury the hatchet, lay it down low,
In the soil where bitter roots grow.
Let not anger rise again,
Nor wounds reopen through pain.
The heart once hurt, the soul once torn,
Carries the weight of grief long worn.
Yet Christ has shown a better way,
To forgive, release, and not repay.
The cross stood high on Calvary’s hill,
Where mercy triumphed over will.
“Father forgive,” the Saviour cried,
For those who mocked Him as He died.
What is our hurt beside His pain?
What is our loss compared to His gain?
He bore it all so we could be free,
From chains of hate and misery.
So take that blade of wrath and spite,
And bury it deep, out of sight.
Let love arise, let grace restore,
And carry the burden no more.
For healing comes when we forgive,
And in that freedom, truly live.
Bury the hatchet, let it stay—
And walk in Christ’s forgiving way.
God knows.God loves.God cares.
