Psalm 80 – Restore Us Again
Restore us, Lord, once more we pray,
Do not hide Your face away.
Shepherd of Israel, hear our cry,
Look from Your throne in Heaven on high.
You led Your people like a flock,
You were their refuge and their Rock.
Out of Egypt’s land You brought
A living vine Your hand had wrought.
You cleared the ground and made it grow,
Its branches spread, its fruit did show.
The hills were covered by its shade,
A vineyard by the Master made.
But now its walls are broken down,
Its leaves have withered, dry and brown.
The wild beasts roam both day and night,
Where once there shone Your holy light.
O Lord of Hosts, look down once more,
Revive the vine You loved before.
Stretch forth Your mighty hand again,
Restore Your people from their pain.
Let hearts grow warm that once were cold,
Renew the young, revive the old.
Bring wandering souls back to Your side,
In Christ alone let us abide.
May churches shine with Heaven’s flame,
Exalting Jesus’ holy name.
Let every nation hear the call,
The Shepherd still invites us all.
Restore us, Lord, our earnest plea;
Let Your face shine graciously.
Then all the world will plainly see,
Salvation comes from You alone eternally.
“Restore us again, O LORD God of hosts; cause Your face to shine, and we shall be saved.” – Psalm 80:19
