Poem Psalm 51
A Rhyming Poem on Psalm 51
Have mercy, Lord, on me this day,
Wash all my guilt and sin away.
According to Your love so true,
Lord cleanse my heart and make me new.
My sins are ever in my sight,
I know I’ve wandered from the light.
Yet still I hear Your mercy call,
Your grace is greater than my fall.
Create in me a heart made clean,
Restore the joy I once had seen.
Renew a spirit firm and bright,
And lead me back into Your light.
Do not cast me from Your face,
Or take from me Your loving grace.
Your Holy Spirit let me keep,
Lord guard my soul both day and sleep.
A broken heart You won’t despise,
You hear the sinner’s humble cries.
No sacrifice can e’er compare,
With one who kneels in honest prayer.
Then shall my lips sing forth Your praise,
And tell Your goodness all my days.
For though I stumbled in my way,
Your mercy lifted me today.
So let this weary sinner see,
The grace that flowed on Calvary.
For God is faithful, kind, and true,
And still makes hearts completely new.
God is a good God.
God knows, God loves, God cares.
