Poem -Psalm 39
Psalm 39 — A Rhyming Poem
Lord help me guard the words I say,
And keep my wandering tongue at bay,
For life is frail and fades so fast,
A fleeting shadow that cannot last.
I held my grief so deep inside,
And hid my tears and aching pride,
But like a fire my sorrow burned,
Until my heart to heaven turned.
“Lord show me how my days are few,
And teach me what is really true,
For man is like the morning breath,
A step away from silent death.”
We chase the riches of this land,
Like grains of dust within the hand,
Yet all our treasures fade away,
Like flowers dying in a day.
And now, O Lord, what shall I do?
My only hope is found in You,
Not gold nor fame nor earthly gain,
But mercy through my grief and pain.
Forgive the sins that brought me low,
And wash my heart as white as snow,
Do not be silent to my cry,
For like a pilgrim pass I by.
This world is not my resting place,
I seek the brightness of Your face,
And when my fleeting days are through,
Lord let my soul find rest in You.
God is a good God
God Knows God Loves God cares
