Poem on Psalm Chapter 50
A Rhyming Poem on Psalm 50
“True Worship”
The mighty God from heaven spoke,
The silence of the earth He broke,
With fire and glory from above,
Yet still He called His own in love.
The mountains trembled at His voice,
All nations heard and must make choice,
For God who formed both land and sea,
Still reigns in truth eternally.
He called His people standing near,
Not just to worship out of fear,
But asked them why their hearts had strayed,
Though sacrifices still were made.
“I own the cattle on the hill,
The oceans vast obey My will,
The birds that soar, the stars above,
Were all created by My love.”
“I do not need your gifts or gold,
Nor empty prayers so cold and old,
But thankful hearts that seek My face,
And trust completely in My grace.”
How easy we can play a part,
While sin still lingers in the heart,
To speak of faith yet walk astray,
And slowly drift from God away.
The Lord sees deeper than the eye,
No hidden thing can ever hide,
He knows each thought, each word we say,
And every step along the way.
Yet still His mercy brightly shines,
His grace through every warning lines,
For all who call upon His name,
Will never leave the same again.
So let our worship now be true,
In all we say and all we do,
Not just with songs our lips proclaim,
But lives that honour Jesus’ name.
Give thanks to God in joy and pain,
For He forevermore shall reign,
The righteous Judge, so strong above,
Yet full of mercy, grace, and love.
God is a good God.
God knows, God loves, God cares.
