Sermon on - Psalm chapter 46

A Mighty Refuge

A Poem on Book of Psalms Psalm 46

When mountains shake and oceans roar,
And storms beat hard upon the shore,
When nations rage and hearts give way,
Our God is near both night and day.

A refuge strong, a shelter sure,
Through every trial we endure,
A helping hand in troubled tide,
The Lord of Hosts stands by our side.

Though earth may tremble under fear,
God’s voice of power still we hear,
Above the thunder, through the flame,
Creation bows before His name.

There is a river flowing bright,
That fills God’s holy house with light,
And where the Lord is dwelling near,
His people need not live in fear.

“Be still,” the mighty Saviour cries,
“I rule the earth, the seas, the skies,
I am the God whom all shall know,
Above all kingdoms here below.”

So when your weary heart is worn,
And you feel battered, bruised, and torn,
Remember still His faithful Word,
And trust the promises you’ve heard.

For God remains our fortress strong,
Our hope, our peace, our victory song,
And through the darkest storm we trod,
We safely rest within our God.
