It Is Good to Praise the Lord
Inspired by Psalm 92
It is good to praise the Lord,
To lift His great and holy Name;
To tell the world His love endures,
Forever He remains the same.
At morning light I’ll sing His grace,
At evening speak His faithfulness;
For every blessing from His hand
Has filled my soul with thankfulness.
His mighty works are deep and wise,
Beyond what mortal minds can know;
His mercy shines like morning dawn,
His truth through every age will glow.
The wicked bloom like passing grass,
Their glory fades, their strength is gone;
But those who trust the living God
Shall flourish like the breaking dawn.
Like stately cedars, tall and strong,
Like palms that bend yet never break,
The child of God stands firm in faith,
Though storms around the earth may shake.
Planted by God’s eternal stream,
Their roots grow deep within His Word;
They drink the waters of His grace
And daily walk beside their Lord.
Fresh oil He pours upon His own,
New strength for every coming day;
He lifts the weary heart again
And gently leads them on their way.
The years may pass, the hair turn white,
Yet fruit still grows upon the tree;
For age cannot diminish those
Who live in Christ so faithfully.
Their lives proclaim to all the earth,
“The Lord is righteous, just, and true.
He is my Rock through every storm,
My faithful God in all I do.”
So let my voice forever sing,
While life and breath within me stay;
“It is a good thing to praise the Lord,”
And walk with Him from day to day.
“It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord.” – Psalm 92:1
