Con Rubbish
We often hear about con men—people who promise much but deliver little. But there is another kind of con that fills our homes every day: con rubbish.
How many products promise amazing results? They claim to change your life, solve every problem, or make difficult things easy. The advertisements are polished, the packaging is attractive, and the promises sound convincing.
Yet, after a short time, where do many of them end up?
In the rubbish bin.
The promise was greater than the product.
Life is full of things that look good on the outside but fail when put to the test. Whether it is a gadget, a fad, or an empty philosophy, many promises prove to be nothing more than expensive rubbish.
God’s Word gives a different message. The Lord never promises what He cannot perform. His promises have stood the test of time. Millions have trusted Him through joy, sorrow, prosperity, and suffering, and they have found Him faithful.
The world often says, “Buy this and you will be satisfied.”
Jesus says, “Come unto Me… and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
One promise ends in the rubbish bin.
The other leads to eternal life.
The question is not what sounds the most convincing, but what is true and what will still stand when everything else has been thrown away.
This could also be developed into a sermon, poem, or illustrated article for your website.
