Charlie the Car’s Update
Charlie the Car was shiny and blue,
But he had a complaint, as some cars do.
“I don’t like roads,” he said with a sigh,
“I wish I could float through the bright blue sky.”
He watched the birds as they soared so high,
And the planes that glided way up in the sky.
“If only I had an update,” said he,
“I could float wherever I wanted to be.”
So off to the garage Charlie went,
To a clever mechanic on helping him bent.
“Please give me an update, if you can,”
The mechanic smiled and began his plan.
Soon Charlie was fitted with lights that glowed,
And gently he lifted above the road.
He laughed with delight as he floated along,
Singing his very own happy song.
No potholes to dodge, no bumps to feel,
No rough little stones beneath each wheel.
“This is the life!” Charlie cried with cheer,
“I’ve never been happier than this right here.”
But one windy day he drifted astray,
The breeze carried Charlie far away.
He missed his turn and became quite lost,
And floating around came at a cost.
At last he returned with a thoughtful face,
Back to the garage and familiar place.
“The roads had bumps,” Charlie said with a grin,
“But they helped me know where I should begin.”
The mechanic nodded and said with care,
“Sometimes the answer is already there.
The path you travel may seem hard to see,
But it helps you become who you’re meant to be.”
So Charlie still floated from time to time,
But he loved the roads and their purpose sublime.
And whenever young cars would grumble and moan,
He’d tell them this lesson he had come to own:
“An update is useful, and change can be good,
But treasure the journey and where you’ve stood.
For the road beneath you may seem ordinary today,
Yet it guides you safely along life’s way.”
